International partnerships

Many of the social issues we work on transcend national borders. This is why we actively seek international cooperation. This creates synergy and increases our impact. We ourselves have initiated successful projects within the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships program and in recent years have been a design partner and work package leader in more than twenty-five European consortia.

Our expertise

Consortium formation

An impactful project stands or falls with a balanced consortium: make sure that at least researchers, domain experts and participants from your target group(s) are represented. Do you need help with this? We are happy to connect you with experienced partners from our international network.

Work package leader

We lead work packages on research and fieldwork, such as data collection through co-design sessions or focus groups. We also have extensive expertise in creative development: from concept development and prototyping to graphic and technical realization.

Implementation

What does the target group need in order to be able to use the project result in the long term as well, in their daily work or life? That question cannot be asked early enough. As a partner – in whatever role – we always include implementability as a design framework.

Programs

8D is consortium partner in (research) projects funded by various European programs. This has developed organically, because our creative solutions and way of working with target groups are closely aligned with the major challenges of our time. Think of the digital transition, the energy transition and strengthening democratic and inclusive communities. Themes where the European Union considers transnational and interdisciplinary cooperation essential – and to which we are happy to contribute!

Conference on playful and innovative approaches to cultural heritage

On October 18, 2024, the final conference of the GRACING project took place in Harghita County, Romania. Representing 8D, designer Bas Altenburg and Sven Snoek attended to share our expertise in design thinking and game-based approaches. Our goal: to support heritage professionals in developing sustainable, playful approaches to heritage preservation. The conference showcased five pilot projects that demonstrated how the best practices and e-learning module, to which we contributed, have been put into practice by local heritage professionals.

8D joins Horizon Europe project to combat food fraud

8D is proud to be part of the Horizon Europe project European Food Fraud Community of Practice: From Outset to Operation (EFF-CoP). The project is led by Professor Saskia van Ruth from the Food Supply Chain Integrity department at the University of Dublin. Together with scientists, regulators, businesses, and other stakeholders, we are working within this project on innovative solutions to combat food fraud.
